Stand for Africa
In 2008, the Kuwait-America Foundation raised over $1.6 million to benefit Malaria No More in support of its comprehensive approach to reducing malaria in Africa.
At the "Stand for Africa" gala held on March 12, 2008, President George W. Bush was the Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker; Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and First Lady Laura Bush were the Honored Guests and Distinguished Speakers; world-renowned Grammy award winner Youssou N'Dour performed; and PBS's Charlie Rose served as the Master of Ceremonies.
