Gala Dinners
In 2005, the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Sabah, and his wife, Sheikha Rima Al-Sabah, launched with KAF annual gala dinners hosted at their residence. The events have raised millions of dollars for organizations such as UNHCR to assist Iraqi women and children refugees wishing to return home; UNICEF to build schools for girls in Afghanistan; Project HOPE for the construction of a children's hospital in Iraq; Malaria No More to fight the disease in Africa; Conservation International to benefit the fight against climate change; and the Central Asia Institute to build schools and promote girls' education in remote regions of Pakistan and Afghanistan
