Kuwait-America Foundation Awards
Board of Education Order of Merit
Dr. Hassan Al-Ebraheem, Chairman of the Kuwait-America Foundation, received the Order of Merit during a ceremony held on February 12, 1997. The District of Columbia Board of Education and the Greater Washington Urban League presented the award to Dr. Al-Ebraheem for his contribution to American schools through the Do the Write Thing Challenge Program.
"The Order of Merit acknowledges the importance of this program in the District of Columbia," said Dr. Al-Ebraheem. "The people of Kuwait can best express their gratitude to the American people by addressing the issue of violence against children in the United States."
